Malo Yachts in Sweden have worldwide recognition for building sailboats that are safe, beautiful, strongly built, and capable of completing long offshore voyages with a minimum crew. Nigel Calder, who is universally known as the guru of yacht systems, owned 2 Malo yachts.
This Malo 106 exemplar is a true bluewater boat, prepared to be single handed and also very comfortable for living at anchor with lots of room and good internal division. The center cockpit is very spacious and offers a safe and comfortable feeling underway, also very dry due the hard dodger.
The boat is very well maintained and in great shape for her age and shows well. Her current owner lived aboard for the last 2.5 years and took great care and did several upgrades and improvements. It is in turn key condition with great cruising gear, ready to go anywhere.
The interior is is in a very good condition has a warm and nautical atmosphere. There are two spacious double cabins, a comfortable saloon, galley and wet cell. Through the whole ship there is generous amounts of stowage both over and under the berths. The deck layout is practical, all decks are wide and provide a safe and easy passage.
The boat is currently in Grenada in the Caribbean.
VAT is paid for the boat and there is documentation for it available.
*Owner's statement*
I wanted a seaworthy, comfortable and solid boat that I would be able to singlehand. I am very satisfied and this boat brought me immense satisfaction. I particularly appreciated the comfortable way the boat sail in bigger seas. The aft cabin is spacious and cozy for long navigations. A little heartbroken we will part ways since Im seeking new challenges on land. I am willing to spend a couple days aboard to share with the new owner the handling of all systems, my cruising knowledge or to help sail the boat to a different location than it currently is.
